Chapter Eleven: A Closer Look

Ana shook her head and lowered the fist. “I have no choice. The Maestro compelled me to watch over and protect Alisiin. I MUST watch over her and cannot do so if she and I are separated. Little Tiger, it looks like I am going to be riding with you on the Quetzal.”

Alisiin looked to David. “I know you want to come, but I do not think she can leave me right now.” she told him and then turned to the Tigress. “At least you will be riding on the side of the world where it is daytime.”

Ana came very close to smiling, although the slight twitch of the lips upward could have occurred for any number of different reasons.

David shook his head in disagreement and then said, “I don’t like it, yet know it would be foolish to ignore a Viewing of my wife and to fight against a compulsion placed by the Chosen Vessel. We will deliver your cousin to her parents and then the Seeker and I will join the two of you as soon as possible.”

“That we will,” Enna stated assuredly.

“Thank you, mighty Nephilim, for healing me and you, my cousin, for coming for me,” Galeah said, while bravely releasing the giant; who had finished the healing. She then hugged her peculiar relative.

“Some of the cuts and scrapes were deep, yet nothing more than simple first-aid could not heal,” the Seeker replied. “I am pleased to be of help, especially before any of those wounds could become infected.”

Alisiin made a decision while hugging her cousin. “Next week I will be learning to make a communication amulet. I will be sure to give you one so you can call me whenever you want.”

“Really, an initiator of my own, one that lets me talk to you?”

“Yes, really,” Alisiin replied, feeling emotionally closer to Galeah than ever before. “Be it so, I think you should stay on the south side of the river.”

“Oh, I will,” she agreed while stepping back and briefly eyeing Zeeeren.

Galeah, David, and the Seeker then vanished in a bright flash-bang.

Alisiin immediately took off running towards the clearing, Ana jogged along behind her, and all nine members of the Deinonychus pack ran along as escorts. They fanned out to the right and left with Zeeeren taking point, as Samuel would have described the action, according to what he told her about Agents operating jointly on security missions. He wanted her to choose his department after graduation, although she currently fancied the idea of being a Researcher in the field.

She knew the game trails very well and had no difficulty leading the Tigress to the clearing. The ability to run a mile without taking a rest had been hers from a young age. The physical strengthening and accelerated growth made the sprint even easier. The workout for Ana and her much longer legs amounted to little more than a brisk jog.

Alexandran touched down just as they stepped beyond the trees. “Do you want me to make you a flight-rig?” Alisiin asked her human escort.
